The Background


Team Avago is not just a racing team, it is the product of a lifelong passion for motorsport, forged through family values, hard work and an unrelenting drive to win. Its story begins in Swinton, South Yorkshire, where a family-owned and operated indoor karting centre laid foundations for what would become a formidable presence in British Motorsport.


The Man Behind The Team


From an early age, it was clear that Dave Sutton possessed something special. With a natural flair for speed and an unshakable determination, he quickly rose through the karting ranks, claiming the coveted Stars of Tomorrow Formula Max Championship trophy. That early success was no fluke, it was the first chapter in an exceptional racing career

The  Ambition


Now with over 28 years of experience, Dave brings an extraordinary pedigree to Team Avago, A former multiple British Karting Champion, Vice European Champion, and race winner in both Formula Renault and The Volkswagon Cup, he has transitioned seemlessly from elite competitor to mentor. His ambition today is clear; to develop drivers with the skill, confidence and mindset needed to achieve greatness on the track

The  Team

Understanding that success in motorsport is never a solo effort, Dave has assembled a team of highly skilled professionals who share his commitment to excellence. From vehicle design and engineering to mechanical precision, engine performance, transportation and race management, every aspect of  Team Avago is handled with expertise and purpose, still supported by the family that helped support those early successes

The  Facilities

The teams state-of-the-art workshop and storage facilities set them apart. With access to engine building and Dyno testing, alongside paint and repair services, sign writing and vehicle wraps, Team Avago ensures each car enters every competition looking sharp and performing at its peak

Successes and The Future

That meticulous preparation translate into outstanding results during the 2025 Mini Challenge season. The team secured 8 main championship podiums, including 2 race wins, alongside an impressive24 Graduate Cup podium finishes with 13 victories. The highlight came when the team was crowned Graduate Cup Champion with Josh Wilby, a driver who began the season as a novice and grew into a confident, title-winning competitor. As the team looks forward to the future confidence is high and ambition is stronger than ever.
